Good afternoon
I have a 2304 that works when i manually trip the solenoids. I can then hit the reject button and it will remove the record and the mechanism will move onto the next one and the pawl arm (i think?) will push that pin down thus resetting it.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the selection buttons to stick. I have the manual but it's not much use in explaining that proicess, and for the life of me i cannot figure out how to remoe the keyboard panel to inspect underneath.
The "Select" button does not light up - i've checked the bulb and it looks fine so it leads me to believe there is a bad fuse somewhere, or maybe a bad wire, but wthout being able to remove the keyboard panel i can't really check.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the buttons to not stick?
Thanks so much, can't wait to get this up and running and then fix it up cosmetically. beautiful machine will look good next to my Seeburg Sunstar.
Thanks!

Is the machine expecting a coin? or has it been modified for free play?
You can locate the 'key switch' in the 'playrak assembly' to see if it is closed. If the key switch is closed, there should be a credit.
If the key switch in the playrak is closed (and the 'latch solenoid' is not actuating), locate the 'latch solenoid' on the keyboard ('electric selector switch assembly'). Depress the latch solenoid plunger by hand to see if it will subsequently latch the keys. If the solenoid stays latched when you depress it by hand (then releasing), the 'latch solenoid switch' is probably pitted/dirty or misadjusted.
All of these things can be found by referencing the service manual.

Thanks Marty! I believe it is set the free play. The spring goes along the underside of the key switch
When I manually depress the latch solenoid plunger the keys do stay latched until I release the plunger but no selection plays
I'll review the manual and see if I can adjust the latch solenoid
thanks!

With my test above, once you depress the latch solenoid plunger by hand it should remain electrically actuated... even after releasing your hand. So it's likely that something besides the latch switch is wrong.

Aha… any thoughts on where to go next?

Could that be why the select bulb is not lit up?
It’s not getting power to the keyboard module?

Aha… any thoughts on where to go next? I would check the -28vdc circuit. Also check the reset button switch on the keyboard.

so intersting update. i just disconnected the cable from the Playrak to the junction box and suddenly the selection buttons were working. They would stick and make a selection, and it sounded like the machine was generating but it wouldn't trip the selector latch pin. It worked for about 10 selections and then stopped. I am pretty sure i have the Playrak in free play mode picture > postimg.cc/MXs3QPbKVideo of selection buttons sticking but not sending the signal? www.youtube.com/watch?v=02ndIj_RSh4

Yes, the Playrak looks correct for free play.
I'd check the 4/10 amp fuse. Look for the fuse holder on the side of the electrical selector assembly (pin bank or selection drum).

bumping this to see if anyone has any thoughts? Just ordered the Wurlitzer Reference book vol 2 from Always Jukin so hopefully that will be of some help.
