Just saying Hello right now but I know I will be reaching out for everyone's help along the way... I picked up my Grandfathers old JAL-200 that has been sitting in a basement for more than 60 years... It is an honor for me to now have it and rebuild it back to working condition as he loved music so much. I'm thinking of starting the process by removing everything from the inside piece by piece. The wood inside is really dirty and has some white buildup everywhere that need to be cleaned up. Not sure yet how to get into the bottom where coin return runs into . I put a flashlight down hole and it is really dirty under there also. Any pointers when starting this process to be careful about ?

Hey Splash! Congrats. I have the same machine. Such a beauty. My main recommendation is to absolutely get a copy of the service and parts manuals. They contain pretty much everything you will need to help troubleshoot and trace issues down. www.jukeboxmanuals.com/ami.htmlI am guessing if it has been sitting for a while, you might want to test the amp and preamp, since often those are the main source of angst (at least in my experience with mine). After that, I have come across some dry rotted cables that needed to be replaced or repaired. Overall, take your time and reach out to this forum as there are some outstanding resources here to help.

Never replace fuses with a higher value. On AMIs the 110V wires are often brittle these days. I don't know if is is the same on Rowe jukeboxes. While disassembling, take as many photos as you can. It helps afterwards to re-assemble. Do not use too much force on parts, screws etc, when trying to get them out. Some general advise can be found here: www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/FAQ-Allgemeines/Kaufberatung.htm#NachAnd yes: The service manual is a MUST.

This is an opinion from a qualified Japanese electrical engineer.
I agree with Hildegard Sensei, and to avoid any danger, please replace the primary wiring, etc., that would connect to the grid with the highest priority possible. And the manual is an important clue. JAL200 is a good juke, so please manage to restore it to good health!
