Seeburg 100J

Have Seeburg 100J. Rejects record as needle sets down. Or one or two seconds into play. Believe it’s mechanical problem. Trip lever does not trip. Saw post on this site. Have cleaned trip coil. Levers. Pulled clutch. Cleaned lubed. Went through Harold Hagens fix’s. Nothing seemed to be stuck or sticking. Went through clutch adjustments from manual. One through four. Problem is intermittent. Might be a little better since I’ve done cleaning and adjustments. But out of twelve plays or so. It did it three times. I’m posting right after making adjustments. Haven’t played a lot of records. I’m just frustrated. Is there something I’m missing. Is there a adjustment I can concentrate on. Any help would be great. Hope I explained well.

It might be something as simple as the position of the trip solenoid? Or maybe the safety plunger? See page 2144 and 2145 of the manual.

Hi Norman.
Thanks for you advice. But I made it worse.
All of the odd numbers will reject five or six
Seconds into the song. The popularity
And pinbank coil will energize. Then record
Rejects. They both energize at start of
Record. Then six seconds later. Do it again.
Every once in awhile the even will reject at
Start of record like before. And once or twice
The popularity and reject coils energized and
Stayed until record rejected. Also trip coil never
Trips during these premature rejects. What

I’m not 100% sure this wasn’t doing this before
I made those two adjustments. I was almost only
Testing even records because I have a bad needle.
I made the clutch adjustments before that. didn’t
Test much. Because still had problems. That’s
When I made the post.

Problem must be in the clutch. I can see the worm gear pin
Barley rubbing on the clutch. Then grabbing and setting in
Motion the reject.

So pin in worm gear is loose. So when I adjusted pin pushed up.
Then in play mode pin would drop hit clutch and
Start reject. So I solved the odd problems. Played eight records
Of even snd odd working so far. Quitting for the day. Can’t take
Any more disappointment.
