Hello All,
New Jukebox addict here.
I have purchased my first jukebox, Seeburg STD2.
I know not the most desirable, but I felt I should get my feet wet with a less desirable unit, and I kind of like the studio 44 feel to it.
Anyways, I am in the process of trying to get the best sound, I am aware these are not HiFi systems.
I am repairing the cones, some small tears, replacing needles, cleaning 45s.
It looks like there has been work on the amp, capacitor replacement, so I will eventually get in the board and test the components.
Is anyone familiar with the tone control and scratch compensator settings. There is some instruction on there ideal setting in the operator manual, but since this is in a Living room and not a bar, and the fact that the 45s are from all eras, what the ideal settings should be?
I also might consider setting the tracking force, not sure if that is possible.
Also, is it possible to add an eq to the system, for quick adjustment, it is cumbersome to open it up to change tone settings.
Also, the switches are a bit stiff, so I am planning on cleaning with. Electronic contact spray??
Thanks for the response,
Rhett
