I purchased a Wurlitzer 2700 and a service manual. I've cleaned all the contacts (I think) and I can't find this issue in the service manual - it was definitely written for someone already trained.
My issue is the carousel with the records will not rotate. Every once in a while, it moves, but mostly not.
Selector buttons push and pop up and pop up the selector pins on the lower control, but the upper does much of nothing. I can hit the cancel button and the record will return to the right (facing the machine). If I hold the cancel button long enough, it will attempt to replay that same record. The reason I say attempt, it appears the timing is off and the record just drops onto the turntable. If I hold the record, it will be clamped onto the center. The tone arm needs to be adjusted, but that task appears simple enough. I bought it from someone who intended on fixing and simply decided he didn't want to anymore. It's been sitting in a conditioned space for the last 20+ years.
I did get it to play a few records and once the amp is warmed up, it sounds fantastic. I know I'll need to recap and replace at least some of the tubes (I do miss Radio Shack), But right now, I'm pretty sure it's something mechanical
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
