Since I got my new juke I've wanted to redo all my strips. I lost the template I'd made years ago to create the ones I have already and I like things to match. I only had some cheap 20lb copy paper on hand so clearly that was going to look terrible. Having no other papers at the house last night I decided to try printing onto inkjet film. I've got sheets of the stuff for making film positives for screenprinting. I'm not sure if these sheets are used for other purposes but that's why I have them. The sheets I use are called Chromaline AccuJet and are 13x19. I print using a pretty basic printer (Canon ix6820).
I am using the free juke.studio site a member here created but I've had to experiment with making the backgrounds a bit darker so that the semi-transparent prints on the film are easier to see. I've dialed in a nice red version however I may play around with a lavender too before committing and creating hundreds of these things.
My juke's light is not as bright nor as evenly acting as the one in my old juke so the paper strips that came in it didn't look all that great especially the ones further from the light. Now, since the strips are more like double-sided movie posters, they illuminate SO nicely. I took a video that demonstrates the effect pretty well. Standing from a distance, the two columns I've done also have a much more noticeable red glow.

I'll also attach a photo but the effect i'm talking about doesn't seem as obvious in-camera (and it'll look even better when it's not so bright in the room).
Just an idea I thought I'd share. Maybe not appealing to purists but these look amazing. Like the titles are screened onto the glass itself really.
