The manual vol control on the back of the machine gives intermittent/scratchy sound and is difficult to set a nice sound level.
So I want to renew it. It's not evident how to get at it though, looks like internally.
I have a factory manual and parts list , but they're not much help.
Anyone shed any light on how to access the troublesome control?

Hi Will, First of all you need a special potentiometer, you can get one at jukebox-world.de when it re-opens at the end of the month. It will not be cheap so it's worth trying contact cleaner into it first (and excercise it), you have little to lose. To replace it, remove the amplifier and then you will be able to take off the bracket to which the potentiometer is attached. The rest is probably obvious.

Thanks Norman. I had a quick peek (amp swings out of the way, who knew!).
It'll be a few weeks before I get around to sorting it, thanks for the info.

Hi Norman I managed to get the straw of a Deoxit can into the pot body and gave a squirt (there's a cut-out in the casing). After excercising the knob the sound improved 90%.... not perfect but a new lease of life I hope. thanks Will
