Hi, I'm Phill. Been tinkering with eletrics for years and repaired more than my fair share of pinball tables. I just bought my first jukebox, a partially working but very badly "restored" Wurlitzer 2400S that was a bargain and I'm working on a proper restoration that will return it to it's full glory. I've had to adjust everything from the trip switch (records didn't stop playing), through the back stop pawls (no B-sides) to the tone arm weight. I've also replaced the guide tips (quite an adventure), the diffuser glass (which had been hand painted) and the cartridge. So it's been quite an adventure so far (and that isn't even half of it). It now works and plays although there are a number of parts that need restoring so there's still a lot to do. Oh, I also found and removed three different air fresheners from inside the mech. Don't ask, I don't know! The machine still needs a lot of love, mainly asthetic - including the removal of some bronze, fabricated front grilles which are not attractive. This is a picture of the machine before I did any work to it, I hope to post more images as I complete work. My interest in the forum is to get some help as I encounter issues but to give back as I learn and can help others. I've noticed there aren't a lot of instructional videos so I plan to make some as I carry out further repairs.

OK--Which "Bay Area" ?--there are a few in the great state of Cal-lee-for-nee-ya ! As for "on line" videos, most are done by inexperienced persons, and contain many errors ! Ron Rich

Ah, fair enough... based in the San Francisco bay area.
Even as someone new to repairing jukeboxes, I've noticed some significant errors. Followed some bad advice (not from here, I'll mention) and managed to bend the lift arm on the Wurl. Fortunately, bending it back was pretty easy but not before the carousel turned, snagged on my brand new guide tip and snapped off the stops on one of the tips. I had to start again - lesson learned, no damage done.

And--as I wrote above in Attn Newbies" ( I think) MOST of the bad info comes from persons who have had little experience--just lucked thru a repair, or two--and "made a Video"-- lol-- Ron Rich
