One thing I've noticed on many of the well played records I've taken from a few Rockolas I've obtained is "scuffing" on the surface most likely from the gripper placing or removing a record on an already spinning platter. Curious if anyone has modified theirs to minimize this by blocking the feed to the turntable motor until the gripper is released? I'm toying with the idea of that for kicks and thinking of possibly driving a relay based on the muting line or something along those lines. I know one potential side effect would be on records with shorter lead in grooves there's a possibility of hearing the opening audio "come up to speed". Have any of you done anything like this by chance?
