Hi everyone, new member here. I am working on a 1957 Wurlitzer 2100.I received it from an estate of a family friend. It did work but stopped and was disassembled. I received it in pieces. I have it working to the point that the selector crank will search for a released latch pin,but the motor won’t stop and reverse when it contacts the pin.If you manually push down the pin,the arm stops and if you manually activate the carriage switch, the reverse relay will engage. You can only release the relay by activating a latch pin (the search crank starts again until you push down the pin). I feel I am just not understanding the diagram properly. If I manipulate the play switch, the transfer switch and the reversing relay, the motor will reverse and it will compete a full cycle but that is only a test and not that helpful. I know this sounds like a lot of trouble and I hope it is somewhat clear, but any advice would be appreciated.Perhaps a recommendation of a nice bourbon.Machine is US built and in Canada. Thanks

Isn't the operation that you're struggling to understand explained in the manual on pages 41 and 42?

Hi Norman, you are of course correct.I am struggling with current flow and order of operation. The manual is invaluable but there are always questions it seems. One thing however that has me stuck is that when the selector arm is searching for a raised pin, I have voltage on both sides of the carriage switch. I am still trying to work out if that’s normal or a problem. I am really enjoying working on this machine. There is quite a learning curve.Thanks.

In that particular instance, you should have a ground on one side of the carriage switch. If you don't, there is probably an issue with the play switch which routes the ground to the carriage switch.
Norman.

Thank you Norman, I will look into that as soon as I can. I will let you know what I find.
