I'm fixing a little 1950 Music Mite for a collector friend and the manual we ordered has an amp schematic but it doesn't match the original amp in the machine. Our schematic shows the amp should have a 6AU6 tube but ours has a 6AT6 tube installed and the chassis is stamped with 6AT6 so I'm sure they must have had a production change during production. The internal components differ as well. I'm wondering if there is a matching schematic available anywhere. Please let me know if any of you are familiar with this little juke as I'm having some problems getting the records to drop correctly as well. Thanks, Mauro

Hi Mauro, Somewhere there is a guy who specializes in them thar, Williams, Mighty-Mites-- might do a web search. If I recall ( I have seen a few of them) they used several different amps in them. Seems they all were very simple three/four tube units. I also have a feeling the basic player used was a modified version of an RCA 45 rpm unit ? Ron Rich

Ron, You are correct about the RCA player, not sure if RCA had the record dropping spindle but that's where my selection problem is, I'll get into that later if I dont figure it out. The amp is very simple and glad you can confirm they used different amps as it's very different than the schematic I have. There is a guy on YouTube that has a few videos of repairing them, perhaps he's the guy? Good advise, I'll search him out Thanks! You wouldn't happen to know what the high voltage winding on the PT should put out or even venture a guess, would you?

Well just thought I'd bring this full circle. I never did find the alternate schematic but by using my RCA tube manual I kinda got the idea of what I needed. I ordered a 290AX Fender Champ guitar amp replacement transformer from Hammond and it bolted right into the original holes, it even looks identical to the original transformer! The high voltage was a bit high for the 6Y6 tube but probably would have been ok, regardless I rewired for a 6V6 and now it plays and sounds great. Just thought I'd write this for anyone in the future with a similar problem. Mauro
