I get an intermittent hum on any record while playing the B-side. The A-side plays fine with no hum. Any idea where to look? It's a pickering pickup.

FattDirk, What's a "Pickering Pickup" ? Do you get the "hum" if you prop pick-up away from record ? Is your audio wire going to the amp, green jacketed ? Which needles are installed--are they properly pressurized, for which-ever cart. you are using ? Ron Rich

Pickering 345-03D cartridge. I do not know the answers to your question. Let me do some research and get back to you.

Fattdirk, You sure about that cartridge ? If a 345-03D it MUST still have have green colored needle plastics (or the new "correct replacements") -- If a 345, or a 340, it must have "seals" keeping the dirt out from between the two metal parts. If "green needles" are installed, it should have 4 grams tone arm pressure. Ron Rich

Yeah I'm sure about the cartridge. It says it right on the side. It has the green colored plastics on it. I actually I found a loose wire near the connection block under the trip switch and when I touched the wire to the jacket of the cable and it hum went away. Is the ton arm pressure adjustment in the service manual?

Fattdirk. The writing on the side is ir-relivant, at this point in time. It only serves to ID what the cartridge was, and which needles were, originally, installed by Pickering. Guess you should connect that wire ?? Ron Rich
