hey gang! long time no chatty.
we moved my LPC across town. i removed the mech and TCC and transported them separately on plush leather seats, with a sealed, refreshing beverage near each (they both apparently did not indulge).
the rest of the box had an only somewhat bumpy staircase ride on an appliance dolly.
plugged 'er all back in... no selections yet...
strangest part - with service switch in PLAY mode - is it will park at N8 after reversing from the right end. i do hear the normal buzz as it passes S1.
in SCAN/STOP mode it will park at S1 as usual.
my manuals are so far packed away, i'll get them out soon, but wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone?
cheers, eric

so. i found i did not have good contact on the 'record reject' terminals of the TCC. so now it parks on S1 as it should.
but still, no selecty... reckon i'll have to await arrival of my tools and batteries to further diagnose.

Hi Cat, This makes zero sense to me--first off-- Unless the amp you have in your LPC is a TSA-1 CODE A, the wires to the reject switch belong on the amp, at the volume control --the black and white screws. Regardless of where the two red wires are connected, they should have no effect on the mechanism's stopping position ? I suspect the scan sub coil is somewhat sticky--un-stuck as you slid the TCC out ? (somewhat covered in my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide", which I think you purchased ?. As for the "no selections"--check/re-seat ALL plugs---first !

Hiya Ron!
well, i can't say as i 'blame" the two red wires that i had neglected to re-connect to the two terminals labled "GND RECORD REJECT" on the TCC ...i did indeed do some massaging of connectors at that time as well. that's when she parked normally.
and sure enough, when i did another re-seating of the tubes, all selections came to play. apparently they all had been written, and as the OA2's seemed especially wobbly, i gave them another out/in and all was a go. probably time to re-tension the sockets.
Hooray, we now have 160 selections to unpack to! the component HiFi and LP records are a long way from coming together...

Cat, I would avoid "re-tension-ing" the sockets-- they used pretty decent sockets in the TCC's--just a spraying of Deoxit on the tube pins themselves and inserting/pulling them several times seems to work really well--Ron Rich

ten-four on the sockets, Ron.
i'm pretty curious why it liked to stop at N8 for a while there. that was a new one for me!

Cat, Only thing I can think of is the scan control asseemb. had/has ? some "stuff" in it--see my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide" -- Ron Rich
