Alan,
Is the motor running--has it been properly oiled in the last 100 years--is it frozen, does it have power to the coil ? Is it plugged in ? Did you just acquire this phono, or have you had it running for awhile ? Didja move it recently, without properly preparing it, for a move ? Ron Rich

Yes I did move it recently one of the relays at the back came loose and it wouldn't work only the turntable revolved I refitted the relay then the turntable didn't revolve. Before moving it was all working Alan

Alan, When moving a RockOla of this vintage, the turn table (TT) should first be lifted off, and transported separately. At this point, what you will need to do is lift that TT up-off, examine the idler wheel for any damage- properly oil the whole mechanism under the TT (suggest 20 wt. motor oil !), including the motor (top/bottom bearings !), and TT shaft--Clean the idler wheel rubber, and the inside of the TT where the wheel touches, with rubbing alcohol Re- insert the TT onto the mechanism. As you re-insert the TT, make sure the idler wheel is under the edge of the TT. That should do it ! Ron Rich

Thanks I have done all that and run the jukebox with no turn table and no record the spindle drive doesn't run, it seems that what ever tells the turntable to start when its doing its cycle is not working Alan

Hi Alan, How are you determining that the motor is no getting power ? Ron Rich

I have just rechecked it with a meter and neon and it is showing power going to the motor. Alan

Alan, What "power" is there ? How did you check this--with what type meter --"neon" ? Ron Rich

Hi Ron I used a meter that told me there was AC power there and a screwdriver neon that I use in UK 220v lights up. I have ordered a new meter that will tell exactly what voltage is there Alan

Alan, Well, #1. There should be "117 VAC" at the motor, not "220" ! #2. If you check AC voltage with an auto-ranging meter, it can read wrong--the "voltage" may be there, OK, but the current is not. If you have a 117 vac incandescent lamp, connect it onto the motor leads --if it lights full brilliance, the correct power is there. Ron Rich
