I have a HFMA1-L6 replacement power transformer which is installed in a model R jukebox. The owner said it worked great when they used to use the jukebox some 7 years ago. My question is what is the effect of our 60 cycle power on this transformer? Is it safe to leave in this amp? Thanks, Mauro

Mauro, Whutchewsmokin ?? A "25 -- cycle--transformer" ? My guess is that transformer is the same for both amps--perhaps a different number, as Seeburg did this if a lead length or wire color was different--but to check on this, just read the schematics --- Ron Rich

Ron, I know it's an oddity, that's why I posted the question. The original power transformer has been replaced with a Hammond 273Z25 which according to specs is a 25 cycle transformer?? I know it doesn't make sense but thats what's installed. That's why I asked, never seen this before and dont know how it will react.

Hi Mauro, As I understand it, a 50 cycle transformer will work in place of a 60 cycle unit-- I am ASSUMING, that if rated for a lower amount of "cycles" (Hertz), a transformer will work at a higher number, OK ? Is this amp working ? Check the temperature of that transformer --Ron Rich

Ron, I remembered about 50 and 60 hz but just wasnt sure about 25 hz?? Apparently the amp was working fine when last in service. I will go ahead with the rebuild and check the temp when its operating. Thank you!
