This 424 was restored about a year ago and has been running flawlessly. Until it didn't. I last played a "33" rpm record and when it finished, the arm went to grab the record but seemed to not close on it completely and left it on the turntable. The arm went to the carousel as normal which then travelled to home position..... ok so far. But the turntable kept running ( should have shut off ). I entered another selection, it travelled around the pinbank and found the pin, but nothing else happened. The carousel didn't move to load the record. Looked it over and touched the carousel motor and it was very hot to the touch. Shut it off. I have the manual...looked it over. Don't know what I'm looking for really. Any idea what to look for? Thanks for any leads.........

Hi Brian, What is you definition of "restored" ? Was the gripper dis-assembled and cleaned, re-greased --if so, with what type grease ? Was the track in the cam shaft that the AB switch toggle rides in, cleaned/re-greased--with what ? Were all of the Micro Switches at least properly checked with an Analog meter/replaced (with NEW--not NOS switches), as needed? ===== My GUESS, from what you have written is that you have problems in at least two of the above areas. Others may have better ideas ?? Ron Rich
