I have several jukebox parts (brackets, switch plates, even a naked amp housing) that were very neglected and are now very rusty.
Would it be better to try any of the chemical solutions available from Home Depot or use an electrolyte bath?

Stephen, I would think that would depend on several factors, some of which would be type of metal, type of plating ( or paint), depth of rust---also, if there is any "silk screen", I would assume it will go away along with the rust ?? Ron Rich

Use Evapo-Rust. Available at Oreily's Auto Parts and Harbor Freight.

Key, Thanks a lot-- I shall try it next time I have a rust problem-- Is this a "finished product", or do you need to coat it with a protectorate ? Ron Rich

Ron:
I usually put on some chrome polish on any metal items I use the Evapo-Rust on.

I've also had good luck with soaking rusty parts in white vinegar overnight. Don't know if it's any cheaper. I'll have to check out the Evapo-Rust as well.
