Are the springs the same across all the jukebox models or did they change depending on the era of the machine?

Thanks Ron for the confirmation, I was pretty certain they were different. I had someone trying to sell me some springs for my black & grey box machines that didn't look right. They kept insisting they would work. I finally backed out of the deal.

I installed a new 350 cartridge from Victory Glass into a 100BL and checked the pressure with a PK Neuses gauge. The tension was around 8 grams as suspected. I adjusted the metal arms that go between the tone arm and the springs for as little tension as possible. I replaced the left side spring with a later model spring from VG and it was about 3 grams when playing a right side selection. Now when playing a left side selection the tension not surprsingly is high. The left spring also sags when the arm is parked after a left side play. Is another pair of springs sold that will get a M100 to around 4 grams? Should those adjuster arms be modified or custom made to allow less tension? I could not find a previous thread on the forum dealing with this.

In my simple world, the springs are always changed in pairs. Why did you only change the one?

Thanks for the note Norman. When I measured with the gauge, the one side was in tolerance, so I only replaced the one spring. I will replace the other one and measure again for both sides. I was hoping that someone had installed a 350 cartridge and had a for sure spring(s) that would be around 4 grams. The later model Victory Glass P/N 49-1953 are a bit too long.

I replaced the right side spring also and adjusted the tension. It was more easy to get to that tone arm screw by pushing the mechanism assembly back about five inches.
