trying to fix my mothers rockola 478. they lost the manual they had, i have it rigged up to work. i was wondering if anyone know if my "fix" is going to break something else?? problem is that the gripper motor turns only enough to move record onto turntable. the motor needs to move more, to move the arm over to the record, and to release the record. then after song is over, i hear the click from the end of record circuit. nothing happens, gripper motor does not move. I went around to the microswitches, and the one that lets the gripper motor move, has a off on the spindle as it turns(open circuit). as soon as it switches the microswitch off, it stops. if i hold the switch up(closed circuit), it continues and works fine. I assume the grove is there for a reason, i don't know what for though. so i tied the microswitch so it is constantsly closed, and the jukebox works perfect. With the switch tied closed, it also reverses after a record finishes, and functions correctly. a video here the switch i'm talking about, is in the upper right, on the outside.
thank you
