First of all my apologies its not a jukebox in the dictionary definition.Bought this as a rough mech and CCC that someone was selling for spares. There was no dial selector,I am presently using a phone dial. Recapped the CCC,cleaned and lubricated the mech etc.Its sort of working but....... It doesnt play the selected record,it plays records that are consistently wrong,by trial and error I found I can play the other side of same record but the number I need to dial isnt numerically the next number, its maybe nine or ten numbers out? Would appreciate guidance where I should be looking.Because the selector is not the correct one my first thought is this, however listening to each stepper working it certainly sounds correct as far as the number of pulses are concerned.Another example is, dial 00 this should be the record at the extreme right of the rack,it plays a record from close to the left end?dial 98 and it plays one from the right end. Dunno if its relevant but the dialler had to be modified with a relay as I found(after the smoke cleared),that the dial at rest was short circuit and should be open.I keep looking on Ebay USA for the original dialler(in UK) but no luck yet.I would like eventually to operate it from a 3W1 wallbox selector instead of the dial but as yes havent found how to do this correctly. Thanks Mick

Mick, Yep---you are correct--- it's not a JB--but what the heck--Gee Dad, itza SEEBURG ! The dial is your problem--Seeburg had a "special dial constructed or them. You can, if you look at the schematics, wire a 100 select 3W1 to it-- Which version AP do you have-the "original" or the up-dated ("U",or"B" on the ID tag) ? Is the CCC updated with the black (plastic) steepper "gears" ? Ron Rich

Many thanks for reply Ron,its not easy getting ANY help with this. Its a Type AP2 5U,luckily for me also on the tag its 50hz!!!!!Black gears. Will it be simply a matter of using the 27v ac,ground and pulse swapping from my homemade selector to the 3w1 terminals? Mick

Hi Mick, Yes--but not "simply"---lol The 3W1 will generate pulses but they will not match how the stepper is set-up. What you will need to do is look at the pulses generated, and convert the stepper discs to match ( All plug-in connections on the stepper). Have fun ! and please let me know when done -- Ron Rich

Cheers, those instructions were really easy to R-E-A-D!Executing them I reckon will be a different story. So do you think, wire it up then see what happens? Not too sure what "convert stepper disks" means. Mick

Mick, Look at the stepper--the "selector discs" are the large square phonalic items on the end of the stepper, with the 30 or so "plug-on" wires, each ! I know you will need to swap the smaller (different end) plug on wires--but you will need to figure out where to put the rest. I'm thinking, but not sure, any "Universal" Seeburg stepper made since the RCSU-5, instructions will work for this, if you ignore the two "album" rows. Ron Rich
