I have gotten some that work ok for use as flashers such as in a Rowe CD100E and some that just flicker or do not work at all from a different supplier. I find no info that tells me what the difference is or what I should look for. Any ideas or a supplier name would be much appreciated.

I think all of the "resellers" are out to make a fast buck, by buying cheap (I do mean VERY cheap) LED's and mounting them on inexpensive "holders", and selling them at huge mark-ups. I have axked various sellers about things such as current draw,@voltage, candle power, lumens, and other simple questions--all I get back is equal to "duh"-- ?? Ron Rich

Most of the miniature lamp on Rowe Ami jukeboxes from around 1980 operated on 14 volts, a few years ago we were having a major problem with these lamps and lamp holders bought from dealers that were supply them as suitable. We later found out many of these lamps were 12 volt versions and the result was overloading of the connections to sound to light controllers (also poor soldering practices by Rowe Ami at the time did not help).
On of you issues with your supply of alternative led's could be down to the operating voltage.
We converted our boat to led lighting a few years ago and plumped for the more expensive led inserts that operated on a variable voltage, this allowed for fluctuations in our battery supply varying from 12 volts to 15 volts when being charged. People that used fixed 12 volt voltage led's have had many issues.
I hope the above gives you some insight.
