I have a rockola 448 jukebox with a 507 wallbox attached. The jukebox is in the basement and the wallbox is one floor up. When I play via the wallbox I still hear the jukebox. I was wondering if I installed a relay to disconnect the jukebox and only use the wallbox speakers, do I need to terminate the speaker wiring into a 8 ohm dummy load.

Hi Canadian, I have spoken with several audio engineers, on this subject-- seems the answer is hotly contested-- One group says "yes", another says (just as loudly), NO !! You might check to be sure it's an 8 ohm load ?? Ron Rich

I will check for 8 ohms. I guess to be safe I will use a dummy load. Thanks Ron. I thought tube amps require a load. Solid state I didn't know for sure.
