I recently purchased a 1952 Seeburg M100 and it worked fine the first moment it was turned on after transporting. The second time I tried to power on it lost sound and stopped working. I have been able to get it working again however there is no sound and after tinkering determined the 2A fuse keeps blowing. What I have been able to determine is that there is a problem with the amplifier. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to repair. I am new to the jukebox world.
Thanks

Hi,"new member", Happy to attempt to help you, but PLEASE read AND comply, with the forum's "rules" as spelled out, in the "introduction" section. If that amp has not been serviced, I would expect one, or more, of the electrolytic caps has failed ! DO NOT replace that fuse till you determine what the problem is, and fix it, as you risk further very costly transformer damage ! Ron Rich, board Monitor

Trtle633,
I bought a M100B recently that actually had the amp from a 100C in it and it was still original. That might sound like a good thing, but for amplifiers it's really not. A lot of the components from the 50s were not designed to last this long - they leak and they're liable to not only being damaged themselves, but as Ron said they can also damage other parts in the amp. Servicing your amp will replace the components - mostly capacitors - and prevent damaging the more expensive ones. You really don't want to blow the power transformers - they're $200+ each to replace!
If you're not sure, check out the FAQs section for a list of service locations and get your amp serviced before you turn the phono back on.
Cheers, Phill
