found a local 222. looks good! side glasses have some peeling but the chrome and cabinet look to be presentable and good shape still! amp was rebuilt, and has the "scans, touches needle, and spits back right away". had this similar problem on a 201 and I ended up just being a dirty mechanism (which I got lucky). I realize it could be a world of things that would cause this, but going in blind to check this thing out; what are some things I can pay attention to and look for that could give me a better idea what kind problem we're dealing with.
I read the "161 tripping" post in here, pretty in depth. looks like that was leaning or talking about a lot of stuff in the TES, (receiver??). If an entire receiver rebuild is in the works then that's something i'd need to think about and consider while I price that out for someone to do. my "knowledge" just started earlier this year getting into this hobby and I started with a model b, pinbank setup. these tormat systems are much different to me and Im not very familiar with them yet. would like to learn and figure things out but, wanna make sure this 222 isn't something way in depth and over my head before i take the plunge.
i realize it's hard to diagnose over the internet and whatnot; but if there's a quick easy check i could do when i go look at it, and that tell me if things are ok, or to run away from it; that would help!
notes from owner:
5/6 years last time played. takes selection scans picks up spits back. credit manually flipped up and still up after selections are made (credit wheel not rotating?) tab is not bent out of way
thanks
