ROWE AMI R85 instantly rejecting records

Hey all,

Super down on my luck with this machine.
Was super excited to find one, resoldered most of the connections after I was having selector issues, and got it back to 100% fully running. It was a blast for about a week.. But I go to turn it on yesterday and it instantly rejects the record once the needle gets set. There's the needle pop and crackle, 1 second of the song and then it puts it back in the drum.

Ive cross-posted my query on arcade-controls but if/when I get an answer, I'll update it to help others!

No clues. Please help!

Brian,
Look at the tone arm switch-es ! See if either is closed, bet one is--or the switch on the cabinet rear, or a "remote switch", was added at some time and just cut off--now the wires are "shorting " --- Ron Rich
