Look at eBay item # 112277755207 It is what I believe is a photo of the V-200 prototype. Look at the keyboard--there is something in between the two letter banks, and the number banks---anyone ever seen a V with this on it ?

Ron, I think you are just seeing the reflection of the keyboard units frames. Same as this:http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-NYC/media/May22_01_zpswpxjufli.jpg.html?sort=2&o=248
Those removable keys are something I wish they'd kept. One thing I'm glad they got rid of are the metal dividers between each key in the V. That was some kind of anti-cheat. It also kept the direct light from the florescent tube from showing, but clumsy women were known to complain that those dividers caused broken finger nails.

Hi Rob, I can't come up with your photo--? Thanks for trying-- On the key insert spacers, they became an option with the TES models, as the write-in became much faster then the EM style. However, I did meet a "kid" who could cheat the keyboard in either a model Q, or Y --Operator caught him doing it, and called us.

I've heard these key insert spacers mentioned before but never seen them. My Q 160 S doesn't have them. How do they prevent someone from "cheating"? I'm guessing that "cheating" means getting a free play out of the machine?

Jake, Cheating was done with a spoon. The kid locked down one button, then took a tea spoon and "quickly" swiped it across the other key bank--He could get one or two selections that way per credit. The spacer inserts prevent holding down multiple keys with the spoon.(check ePay--often see them offered there). Ron Rich

Ron Rich I looked them up on eBay but couldn't figure out how they would help prevent cheating. Thanks for the explanation! I'm not going to experiment on mine to see if I can get it to work but I was wondering.

Max, When installed they prevent two "keys" from being in the down position at once. Without the spacers, the spoon can be guided to hold down a key long enough to make a selection, snap back up, and allow the next key to also conduct. Ron Rich
