Removing-replacing Seeburg wallbox buttons

Hi All,

Anyone have any tips on removing/replacing wallbox buttons on Seeburgs ? I have done it before, but, there MUST be a better way then I have used !!

The ones I removed were a pain, needle nose pliers behind, see saw up and down a little to wiggle it off.
I was tempted to heat the shaft with my hot air gun,(smd soldering) but didn't go that far.

I've been trying to figure out a nice way to get them off also as the ones on my SC1 are filthy.  I decided to try a small nail puller/pry bar and it worked pretty well.  Letters A-K and numbers being on the outside row was relatively easy "rocking up" the larger end of the tool behind the buttons.  The middle row of letters L-V were a little trickier as I had to approach the buttons at an angle in between the outermost row plungers and use some curved needle nose pliers to pry up from both sides.  A soak in some "Awesome" cleaner from the dollar store and an old toothbrush cleaned them right up.

Hi Tony, and all
Only one thing I know--"don't pull on the shaft, itself" ! Doing so can ruin the switch-- I stick a narrow Vise Grip, on the shaft, and pry against that Vise Grip, rather than the shaft ! Just for cleaning, I have never found it necessary to remove them-- (toothpaste-brush, works well for me !) Ron Rich
