Just got a rockola model 1434 works but the only problem is the record trays don't move over completely to play position,it's about 1/2" off so when the turntable rises it will bind on the tray or wont sync with the hole on the record It happens mostly with the even numbered selections ,the people I got it from said it worked well until a few months ago when they made a selection and it picked up a record then stopped ,so they shut off the juke and decided to sell it what happened was the turntable was binding against the bottom of the tray , Is there an adjustment to correct this ?
Thanks

Jim, "Adjustments" DO NOT change !! Therefore, there is no adjustment for this problem. This is strictly a "lubrication problem"-(Unless you also have bent trays )-got the manual --if not order one from the listed book suppliers in our FAQ's section. Ron Rich

Thanks Ron ,the trays do not seem bent .I have the manual and have read thru it ,I cannot find any lubrication guide in the manual or in the illustrations in the manual , It does make sense that it is a lubrication issues as the people I bought it from said it worked fine all these years,up until a few months ago when it stopped in mid cycle.,She got it from her uncle in 1963. Anyway the manual does discuss the tray driver assembly specifically tray driver spring that holds the tray against the tray stop post ,that if the spring becomes weak to replace it ,what do you think ? And if it needs replaced is there a source for these ? Or just try to match it up at the hardware store . Like I mentioned the trays are just a little off from the stop post about 1/2",I can move them manually and some will stay others will gently spring back the half inch when I let go of the tray . It also mentions excessive safety spring tension on the turnover indicator link as a cause of weak tray tension on stop post Anyway any help you can give me is really appreciated ,it's a very nice looking juke

Hi Jim, It's been at least, 25 years since I worked on one of them--and I don't recall the tray set-up--- You might go to Alwaysjukin's web site, and pick up Harold Hagen's "RockOla book(s?)". Ron Rich
