It is just a solenoid connected to the selection system that makes a noise when a selection is made to tell the customer it was registered.

The color was called "Firecracker Red". If you can find some original, not worn paint below a trim or so, I'd take that sample to a professional painter shop. Ask them to mix this color for you. Unless one can buy "firecracker red" as a regular color.

Hi Hildegard, As far as I know ( which ain't much !) the only red that is somewhat universal -- sold as a "named color" is, "Coca-Cola red". Ron Rich

his suggestion of pulling a small chip of color is right on. Home depot and or lowe's can match it up exactly. I've done it several times with my hobbies and home. only question would be type of paint Oil base, acrylic etc, etc. And or Gloss or Super gloss?? I have a G120 that was made with the Panel look. When finished I will paint it Red oil based Gloss. Hope this helps. Al

I just read in another brochure the color being "cherry red". About the surface they say "The cabinet is protected against hard usage by a tough clear film of Rel-Var, resulting in a surface that is impervious to alcohol. acetone and other thinners, and will even resist cigarette burns." No words whether it is glossy, supper glossy, a satin finish or whatever. But I'd say it's not super glossy.
