Hello, I have a 1958 Seeburg model 201. I am constantly chasing problems.
This time it won't play the A side of any record in the 7 section. It will play all the B sides in the 7 section and will play all songs in the 1-6 sections and all songs in the 8 and above sections. I pulled the black metal cover off the switch bank and everything looks fine. I tried to pull out the two big black rectangular connectors in the cabinet but couldn't figure out how they came out.
I wish there was someone in central North Carolina who was experienced in working on these boxes. Thanks for any suggestions you all may have. Vince

Hi Vince, Welcome ! Please show your location in either your status area, or in your signature area as requested in our user introduction, "rules" section. Also please note, that it requests you read our FAQs section--if you do, you will find several "lists" of repair persons-- there are at least two, persons, in NC. Ron Rich

Thank you Ron. I added my location and checked the lists for repair folks. Closest ones are three hours away so I'll keep reading. Thanks for your time and response.

Vince, Thanks ! You may have a problem in the two Cinch-Jones connectors-- They unplug by squeezing the two "silver" colored tabs, and "rocking"/pulling up. Ron Rich

Thanks much Ron. I was able to get both connectors off. They both looked fine. But I sprayed them with contact cleaner anyway and will let them dry for a few days before reinserting them. I say a "few days" because in the process of pulling off one of the connectors, I broke a tube (OA2) . Yeah, I know, should have removed the tubes close to the connectors before pulling. (I like to learn everything the hard way.) I don't have a spare on hand so I just ordered five off eBay. It will be a couple days before I get them and can test the re-seating of the connectors. I'll update this thread once I can get it back up and running. Thank you again for your time.

Hi Vince, I have had no experience with either of those products--pleas read our FAQs, on contacts, for a good discussion, and if you feel confident in the products, add to the discussion ! Ron Rich

Well, I received the new tube, installed it and it is back playing as it did when I started this thread. (Plays all but A sides of records in the seven section.) I will investigate what is behind the Cinch-Jones connectors next.

Vince, if you are still having issues, I may be able to help. I've gained quite a wad of knowledge on this particular selector setup. My guess would be a dirty selector keyboard switch. This late in the game and most of the silver plating has worn pretty badly on these style self-cleaning switches. I work in Raleigh and live just down yonder from it.

Matt, Vince, My guess it is not in the TES ! Will it play all other selections using the keyboard ? If so, it is not in the TES, but in the read-out section. See the "battery trick" FAQ here--do the trick, and see if it selects them that way--If so, yep--it is TES related, if not it is read-out related. Ron Rich

Yes, still having issues, but I haven't had time to get back to it. Yes, it plays all other selections using the keyboard except the A sides of the records in section 7. I'll check out the battery trick.
