So far most of the work I have done are on DCCs. I just received an SCC-7 to put in an LS-1 I've had tucked in the corner. Are there any recommendations for bench testing? I'm looking through my various guides and I don't see a chart with the TB3101 voltages listed and they aren't stamped on the unit. I get 143V at #1, 370V on 2-3 Read Out, on the 4-5 bridge & 6-7 bridge I get 2-4mV, and on the +27 I get 26.3V. Do these look normal for a SCC? I'll dive in to Tony's Console Era book later this week and see what else I can find.

Thanks Ron & Rob. The electrolytes are on the list as well as those resistors. Everything near the long ceramic block resistor is black as well but I'm not sure why yet. This thing looks to be all original. At least passed the smoke test.

Stephen, that soot is normal. It is hot 24/7 and heat draws in grime from the location. With the unit horizontal it just disperses all over. I just washed them and got rid of it.

Yep, the 10 watt ceramic resistor will surly fry eggs ! Be sure that you change the 56k 2W, to a 56K 3,or higher, watt unit !

Guy's -- Just FYI, the SCC 7 and 8 are not the same animule ! SCC 8 schematics won't work for the write-in section of the 7. Seeburg "improved" the design ( "Seeburgease" for it cost them less !). Ron Rich

I've got a SCC 7, SCC 8, and a DCC sitting here next to each other. It's interesting to see the progression from solid state to digital. I know these are well engineered but the 7 looks like it was just thrown together by sadistic engineers.
I'm changing the lytics but what about the two molded paper capacitors, C3110 & C3114. What would you change them with if they needed it, mylar?

The SCC-7, was a "miniaturization" of the prior full sized SCC. Other then the combined Autospeed section, it is an exact copy of the earlier version--all "squished--ed" together-- LOL--- Ron Rich

Ron, aside from going to a board in the 8 I recall being able to use them interchangeably in the Franken-hideaways we made. The pinouts look the same.

I have the unit recapped and voltages test good. Thanks for the help. I noticed that one of the fuses, F3102, is in a double fuse block and has both fuses in it. What would be the purpose of this?

I have seen this done "thousands" of times-- some "dingbat" who should not be allowed to fix a sam-which, Did not know how to test it, had no idea that the original fuse was good, when he added the 3434, and another fuse -- Is the added fuse the correct size/type ?? Just remove the 3434 and fuse---Ron Rich
