After working on various EM machines like pins, bowlers and jukes for 50 yrs, I have made many mistakes from honest Ignorance, and lack of anyone to guide me. No internet, and no contact with anyone that knew anything about machines more delicate than farm tractors. So I would OIL plungers, relays, wheels, after getting all the tarlike residue off, only to have the same problem recur after a couple years. While I like working on them, it gets old.
A few years back I started using Graphite powder after cleaning and was wondering if anyone has pros or cons about this. Seems to work well on the selector pins on G H I jukes even though common wisdom says no lube. It comes in little squeeze tubes and never gets sticky. Really makes counters work crisply even after sitting for years. So..any thoughts? By tvtechrich central mn

The only thing I wonder about is the conductivity of the graphite. Care would have to be taken not to get it on any boards, switch bodies etc. that had non insulated connection points in close proximity. It might not be an issue, but something that came to mind.
