Hi Leo, Yep--attza my point ! You MAY have a problem with the "chip", but you won't know that till you have made nearly 100 selections, --see if the "most played" list is building--if it is, and the pop list remains the same--you have a bad chip-- Ron Rch

Sometimes the easiest answer is the charm. I spoke to Ed Fischer at cdadapter.com regarding his board repair products. A very nice and informed gentleman, he had me open my R-84 and start pushing the PRESS and RELEASE to ADVANCE button. I saw the display on the CCC board for RECORD NUMBER and TIMES SELECTED declining in order. Then he said I should push the MEMORAC button and see if it resets. Well I did and it displayed the MOST POPULAR selection as 100 which is the first selection on the play list. I went forward from there and selected several tunes keeping track of which one I selected most and the MOST POPULAR display appears to be working as it should. Nothing else needed here, amazing no?

Hi Leo, Glad you got it--No "amazement" here,on that-- I had assumed your CCC was OK ! -- Sometime way back when, I believe, I said to "reset the memorac"! I am, however amazed that 1. You were able to get ahold of Ed, on the phone, and 2. You were lucky enough to have caught him in his "rarest of moods"-- ( being a "very nice--gentleman" !)--LOL ! BTW-- I would still change that battery--especially if it does NOT remember the settings, after a few hours with the power off ! Ron Rich
