OK--- If you can get the basket to start in the "service mode", try this--be sure a "pin" is "up" ("Released" ) on the ES, start the basket with the service switch, and once the basket starts to move, return the service switch to the play mode--what happens at that point ?

New development today. I haven't touched this for a few days, my dad passed from covid. As soon as I turn it to service with it in run mode the mechanism moves like it is picking up a record. It is in the home position so no record there. When I move the selector to load it acts like it is putting the second back. That back switch is still open all the time. The solenoid is moving but the lever back there doesn't move far enough to trigger that switch. Should I adjust the switch so that when the lever in in the locked position that switch is closed?

I have no idea, which "lever", where you are speaking of ? Please use the terms in the Service Manual--and, BTW-- the "adjustment" for it (whatever it is?) is also in the Manual. Be sure it's clean, prior to "adjusting it". Ron Rich

Speaking of the ratchet above the carousel. It does not contact the micro switch at all.

i DON'T RECALL SEEING A "micro" (switch) there at all ? I do recall seeing an open blade switch -- maybe they changed it on this one -- Send me a photo-- sounds as if this switch is your problem --

no it is a blade switch. I adjusted it with the gap prescribed in the directions. Tomorrow Ill take a longer video of what it is doing now so hopefully you can tell me what to adjust and I can call it a day on this one. I feel like I am close, just missing something simple. I did get it to pick up a record and play it in service mode today but when I select a song in regular operation mode only the bottom mechanism moves not the carousel. Also, I dont see that a pin is being popped up when a selection is made. Please remember I am totally new at this. If we were talking about pinball machines or arcade games I might have a leg up.  |

If you know Pins, you should know a Micro Switch is a brand name for a totally enclosed over center snap switch-- Did you meter the open blade switch, with the power Off, using an Analog meter ? Ron Rich
