Hi Rob, I'm afraid that I can't help you with the switch! I had initially thought you meant the pushbutton cancel switch but that's on the other side. I've had a look in my Continental 1 and there no limit switch beside the credit light and I also can't see anything in the manual. Can you identify what would actuate the switch? Does it look like an addition? Might it be some sort of "add credit" modification operated from the coin reject button? Glad it worked out with the LED lighting.
Norman.

Hi Rob, Can you post a photo of that switch-- I agree with Norman's guess-- it's something "someone has added"--but we could be wrong ! Ron Rich

Hi Ron, The switch with a red button I have found out, activates the Credit Unit Solenoid. So I would think this allows the 'Bar Owner' to give the JB credits to play when things are quite. All 3 of my JBs have this 'credit' button under to top panel next to the credit light and it is part of the JB's wiring harness and not an add on. This may be a feature prevalent to South African/UK JBs ? Unfortunately the system will not allow me to post a photo. Nearly done with the rebuild. Thanks Rob

Hi Rob, I highly doubt that switch was there for "bar owner" use-- It was probably for the serviceman's use in testing ! You can add images here-- see our FAQ's section for instructions -- Ron Rich

Ah-ha, the credit button! I was looking in the wrong place and I was also looking for a "micro switch"! Norman.

Hi Ron/Norman, Yes that makes more sense, for the 'Serviceman's' use in testing. The photo is 100KB but the system says will not allow the attachment as it exceeds 1MB ?? Any way we have solved the 'credit/serviceman' button. Thanks guys. Will update you when I get the Valve amplifier back, and have installed it. Thanks guys and all the best for the new year 2022 !! Rob

Hi Ron/Norman, Just to let you know that I am still around. The AMI is done and I am just waiting for the amp rebuild which I sent off in October last year. I should be receiving it back in the next week. When installed and the JB is working I will report back. Regards Rob

Hi Norman, Are you still around on the Juke Box Addicts system ? I eventually got my valve amp back from repair and have installed it, all good and working, worth the wait !! However when selecting a record say A12 the JB plays A12 then places it back in the record magazine and immediately selects A13, plays A13 and then scans and stops. Not sure why it plays both sides when selecting one side ? Pulse receiver search wiper blades worn ?? and need replacing ?? or alignment of search wiper segments ?? Can you help ? Thanks Rob

Hi Rob, Pleased to hear that it's nearly complete! If you look at the pin wheel, you will see that A1 is marked. If you select A1, the A side pin pusher should be hitting the A1 pin centrally and the B side pin pusher should be falling between two pins. Sometimes the adjustment is off such that the pin pushers catch both the A and B side pins. Alternatively, the A side pin pusher may be perfect but the B side pin pusher arm is slightly bent. You can manually lock the sprag and adjust the pin pusher arm at A1 if it is slightly out of adjustment.
Norman.

Hi Norman, Thank you very much for this information. I have noticed that the one pin pusher arm is slightly bent. Will get back to you. Thanks

Good Morning Norman, I am back again. I have straightened up the two-pin pusher arms and all is good. Just one last small thing. When the tone arm gets to the end of the record and picks up, the needle 'scratches 'on the record. Do I need to adjust the tone arm height or the stylus height (not lifting high enough off the record before moving back to its rest position?). I don't think it has anything to do with the muting relay. Other than that, the JB is finally complete, looking good and working well and of course with many thanks to you and Ron for your assistance and advice over the 2 year rebuild period. Regards Rob

Hi Rob, Are you using the original cartridge? I can't remember whether we discussed replacement cartridges and I'm too lazy to read back the thread - well actually I did take a look back and see that it is an M44! Is it one modified for jukeboxes like Rock-Ola used (fits up inside the tone arm)? There is a tone arm height adjustment which might sort you out but sometimes newrer replacement cartridges (and an unmodified M44) don't sit far enough into the tone arm. Maybe you could post a picture?
Norman
