Hi Norman, I have come right. I adjusted the turn table 'cut off' switch to lift the tone arm sooner and all is good. The JB looks great (virtually new) and plays perfectly. Thanks again for your and Ron's assistance with my rebuild. I now need to get my 1961 AMI Conti up and working again. So you will more than likely be hearing from me again. Regards Rob

Hi Rob, Pleased to hear that you finally got it fully operational. You won't need help with the Continental 1 - just read through this thread lol!
Norman.

Hi Norman, Yes, you are right, I have learnt a tremendous amount over the last few years about the working of the AMI JB. I will be making a hard copy file of all the threads, 1 - 12 titled 'fault finding'.

Good Morning Norman, The AMI JB that I rebuilt has developed a problem. When the record is returned to the record magazine the transfer assembly places the record in the magazine but immediately takes it out and places it again on the turntable. The transfer motor is not switching off when placing the record in the magazine but keeps running rotating through 360 degrees and completing the cycle over again. I am not sure where the transfer motor switches off and reverses? Transfer motor control relay? Does the motor actually reverse (AC so I do not think so)? If not is it switched and it then continues through 360 degrees. Can you please advise. Thanks Rob.

Hi Rob,
This thread is almost 4 years old and has run it's course.
I think you can answer your own questions here... the service manual has great simplified schematics and fully describes the 'cycle of operation'.
If you still have problems after consulting the documentation, feel free to start a new thread.
-Marty
