It just hit me, I probably have to remove the pinbank and disassemble to clean properly Can a dirty pinbank make some selection numbers stay down when pressed? If so is it difficult to remove frog from pinbank. Any suggestions appreciated. pete I think my coil questions were premature. pete

Pete, You are exhausting me ! Pull the phono's line cord from the wall -- GET your copy of my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide" out, and R E A D IT !! You paid me good money for it--- it does you no good sitting there, unread ! Then, READ the stickies--yep all of them--- in the Seeburg section here ! Ron Rich

Pete, You have NOT "read, MY, books"--simply because I have written no "books"-- Just two "guides" (LOL) ! Please tell me which printing of the mech guide you are "reading", and on which page do you see any mention of a (scan?) add or subtract coil, being connected in any way, to the SAU selection system ? Also, please re-read the red stickies in this Seeburg section, as you often ask questions that are already answered there. Ron Rich

Hi Ron i have a few selection buttons that work, but you have to play with them to get them to release, I only cleaned the selector no burnish etcetera, do i leave well enough alone or is there more i should do to the selector? pete

Pete, Once again-- these questions are answered, in the red-pined FAQ's section of this forum ! READ the post on "contacts" and "over-center switches", there. Then READ the factory Service Manual, which tells you how to adjust the start/hold switches ! Ron Rich

Hi Ron ,i have a question that only someone that that has heard most models can answer. As listed I have a M100c, Looking at the amp it appears to have been recapped in the last decade, the caps are not original and are mostly Mylars bright yellow. Power supply has been recapped and Tubes have been tested and seem all good. My issue is the vocals are at 10-25% less than the music. This may be normal due to only one speaker. I figure you would have the best chance of had heard most models. pete

Pete - what type of cartridge are you running in the M100C? Reason I ask is that if someone has retrofitted a stereo type in there and miswired it, on stereo records it might sound like the center channel has been removed.

Hi Tony it looks original, but maybe not. I may be expecting too much from a 70 year old unit. pete

That's not the original monophonic cartridge but a later Seeburg stereo cartridge that someone appeared to hack into the tonearm. The original looks like the one at this link: images.reverb.com/image/upload/s--TMfILNK8--/f_auto,t_supersize/v1574569368/gmydolh2vojeybtkovoj.jpg I'm thinking the lower vocals you're hearing is probably because it's miswired, giving you that "karaoke" effect. You most likely want to wire both channels of that cartridge in parallel (connect L+ to R+, L- to R-) and wire the signal feed to the amp from the + connections, and the ground feed to the - connections. EDIT: you'll want to copy that entire link to a browser address bar, the hyperlink on the post is cutting off some of the link

The wiring should work, it will give both channels added together for mono. As far as an original, it might be a bit more than just the cartridge, depending if you need the original 2 pin mount, as well as adjusting tracking force if that was messed with for the replacement. Others may have better direction on that.

Thanks, Im going to have a much closer look at tone arm and cart. After a closer look i see there is an adaptor, the wiring seems original. I would think if it is the correct adaptor the stereo cart should work, and if its the case if i find the original it should still connect and work. pete
