Hi Pete, What you have there is a Pickering 340 type cartridge, which is plugged into a /WICO a-daptor ! (My understanding is that some of these adapters were wired in series, others were wired in parallel -- ths arrangement was poor, in that it did not support the cartridge). --- equipped with the incorrect needles, most likely-and maybe the wrong springs ? READ, the above sticky on "needles" ! Ron Rich

Yes i have quite a pickle, the springs were crazy, 11-13 grams resistance both sides, i don't have replacement springs so for now i cheated and stretched them until both sides read about 4 grams. Your right about the adaptor it does not fit well, only about half way in, not sure if i should force deeper. Ive been looking for the correct cart but this may be very difficult. Ron do you know any marking or distinguishing characteristics that i would be looking for to confirm i am getting the correct cart. Many add are listing used carts at high dollar that they say will work on the M100C..

Ok I need a blackhead mono. I was able to clean connector and make sure it was seated in line, it has improved the sound greatly.

Hi Ron, im not sure how long it will take to find a mono blackhead for my unit, so far i dont see any i can get. The 340 on it now with adaptor weighs 10.5 grams, the distance from the bottom of the adaptor seated from the tone arm to the tip of the needle is 1 11/16 . I see alot about people using adaptors, and see there is one selling on ebay that is supposed to be better than the Wicco. If i cannot secure a blackhead, can you recommend a better setup or am i wasting my time. thanks pete

FYI i had a 345 cart with a Wico adaptor, the needles were new and from Victory glass so not Seeburg original. The sound was very good but lacking in vocal definition. I was able to secure a mono blackhead specified for my jukebox and i must say the difference is quite noticeably better, overall sound and clear and distinct vocals, pete
