Hi all, Recently picked up a U100 Mustang and it has the stereo Redhead cart with worn needles. It uses the 145ST11 mech. I'd like to solve this by swapping in a tone arm and bracket assembly from an HLPC-1 mech I have here. A similar swap was discussed here: jukeboxaddicts.proboards.com/thread/425/involved-swapping-model-stereo-tonearmMy questions are these: Firstly, will the magnetic trip switch work and how do I wire it: the HLPC had one white wire from the harness going to one contact, and the other was grounded to the junction block (sorry for the image quality but if you cross your eyes you can see the upper contact wire do a half-gainer and terminate on the left junction block screw). On the electromechanical switch on the Mustang, there is a white wire and a black wire coming from the harness. Wire direct to the existing harness, or cap the black one and ground the other switch contact? Secondly: will this swap interfere with my automatic gain control or output volume, and can this be solved with an external signal booster such as what Victory Glass is selling? victoryglass.com/product/seeburg-booster-amp-for-mono-tube-amplifiers-with-transformer/Thanks for any help.
