Hi All,
I am seeking some direction on my latest 'new years' project.
I am connecting a 3WA wallbox to my KD200 jukebox. When I make a selection on the wallbox the selector plate turns as it should.
However, only the letter stepper activates in the jukebox. As the Selector plate turns in the wallbox, the letter stepper activates, stops (for a short period) and then activates again, as the wallbox selector plate moves through the number contacts in the wallbox.
It is as if the selectors in the wallbox are all conected to the letter stepper in the jukebox. The number stepper does not move.
If I turn the number stepper manually during the process, (using a screwdriver) it does select a record.
I have cleaned and adjusted (to my ability) the switches.
Can anyone give me some direction as I am obviously missing something? I suspect a switch is not operating as it should, however, I cannot find it.
Thanks, Regards Gordon.

Hi Gordon, In the gap after the letter stepper operates for the first time (in your case), can you see if the transfer relay is dropping out? The transfer relay operating transfers the pulses from letter to number stepper. Norman.

Hi Gordon, Do you have a RCSU-1, or a RCSU-1A installed in your phono ? Ron Rich

G'day Ron and Norman,
Thanks for your replies.
Ron, I have the Stepper Electronic unit RCSU1/SEU1, and Stepper Unit RCSU1/SU1 installed. Both code A.
Norman, That sounds like it could be the problem. Where is the transfer relay located? I cannot find it in my manuals.
Kind Regards Gordon...

Hi Gordon, Page 16021 shows the transfer relay and also what the contacts on it and the other relays do. Norman.

Hi Norman,
I located the transfer relay, my manual had some printing missing. I will remove it and have a good look.
Cheers
Gordon.

Ron,
No. I was hoping to avoid replacing them, but, now it's my next job.
I always have difficulty sourcing the correct capacitors and usually need to have them shipped from the US, which takes a long time in shipping. At least there are only a few to change.
I will let you know the outcome.
Cheers Gordon...

Hi,
I have been able to locate and fit the two LYTIC caps. Unfortunately no change to the stepper, the number relay still is not moving.
I have not been able to purchase the two other caps (.047 MFD 200 V. +/- 10% paper).
Could these be the problem? or perhaps a switch within the wallbox?
Cheers
Gordon..

Hi Gordon, Look for .047@220 volts--@ 400 volts--no difference to you in this-- also--no longer "paper"-- now Mylar, or "stirine" (sp?). I doubt it's in the WB-- it's in that stepper-- look at the 1/2 watt resistors-- Ron Rich

Hi,
I managed to replace all the caps and checked the resistors.
I have cleaned and adjusted all the contacts. I also checked all wiring and solder joints.
Still no change, I think must be miss reading one contact.
I will keep looking, but its driving me crazy!!
Cheers

Hi Gordon, If that was a "standard" Seeburg stepper-- I would look carefully at the "transfer contacts"-- dono where they are on that abortion ?? Ron Rich

Hi,
As a last resort I 'jumped' power from the Letter Step Relay to the Number Step Relay, nothing happened.
Could this mean the (Number Step Relay) coil is no good?
How can I check it?
Regards
Gordon..
