Hi Ron,
I trust your opinion. I think my best move forward is to try the 'Tisdale 'cartridge.
Thanks Gordon..

Hi everyone,
Return with my today experience. I've place a never use Pickering 345-03D in my V200. Before I had redhead. What a change! More power, more dynamic, more clean sound, I'm happy. Yes, my redhead wasn't new, as needle place on it, but for me, Pickering is better. With some records, I'm not far from a CD (today was a great day, I've find why I don't have enough treble, you can see it in other topic) Hope it can help anyone. Cédric.

Hi Cedric, This appears to be a Pickering 340 cartridge that has somehow been modified, to fit this tone arm--- Ron Rich

Is that not what I would call a Showcase cartridge (ie SS160 onwards) mounted into the base of a redhead? Which is basically what the 345D was - I know because I know someone who split open a 345D! I think that looks like a pretty decent effort though!
Norman.

Hi Norman, Yes--egg zact lee what it is ! Except there never was a "Showcase cartridge". That was the pfunny peoples term for the "wedge type" needles, used in the SS-160 model and the corresponding year's 100 select model. Ron Rich

Has anyone used www.turntableneedles.com in Oregon before? I was chatting with them today about their yellow wedge needles. They have the standard issue listed at $25 ea but also an "upgraded" version. They say it has a smaller tip than the other one to fit the grooves of the record better. Sounds odd to me unless the standard ones aren't really .7mm. After my problem with needles I ordered last year I'm leery of anything not original. Stephen

Hi Steven, I have a pair of the "Bliss" needles they sell ("regular", conical). They are better than any other aftermarket ones I have seen/heard, however, they are still not as good as the Pickerings-- AND they are for use ONLY in the 160 select models--NO "100's" of any kind, IMHO, even tho they claim differently on the packaging-- The "upgrade" needles should be OK for the Seeburg Home Stereo's, that play the 12 inch 33 rpm records, not 45 rpm records-- Ron Rich

Thanks for the info. I've gone down the rabbit hole researching these and came across some info that Bliss is a Jico made stylus. And Jico sells direct a version for the "Showcase". That's all the info I could get from them. The website doesn't give any more details that Showcase.
From what I've dug up it seems like there are only two manufactures of any Seeburg stylus currently, Jico and Pfanstiehl. It sounds like any of the other brands, Bliss, EVG, Tonar, etc, are all rebranded versions of those two but that the quality is hit or miss, not just on the jukebox styli. It's all confusing as can be with little clear information. It's easier to find missile manufacturing info. I can't imagine it's that big of a market so it's pretty amazing that anyone is making them at all.
Stephen
