My Rock-ola 464 stayed in Indiana and my Wurlitzer Fuego came to Florida with me so I am working on getting it acceptable for the game room. I had previously got the mechanism working just by freeing up a part or two where the grease had hardened. Don't recall what I even did at this point. Going to document the rest here. Hopefully this is the correct forum for this. I see mostly questions here though I may have some questions going forward. I replaced the casters with these: Grainger part# P5S-R020G-SG1 (cheaper on Ebay if shipping) I have a new lift support strut coming from: www.sgs-engineering.com/nl5658-juke-box-application-gas-strutNeed to replace the stylus and indicator lamps. Will get those from: www.jukeboxparts.co.ukCurrently working on the amp. It has a couple issues. Overall the sound is not that great but sometimes it sounds better after warming up a while. Going to replace all 25 electrolytic caps. I have a Mouser project saved if anyone would like me to share with them. The other issue is the Left channel is very faint unless it is set to Mono. I believe this is an issue with the preamp section of the board possibly the LM387. I may replace this chip while I do the cap kit since I don't expect the cap kit to solve this problem. More to come... Here is the amp as it currently sits:

Installed the new strut. No more holding up the top with vice grips. Sweet.

Hi Darrin, Ab-sol-lut-lee amazing-- you installed a new part, and it did it's job? Hard to believe ! Ron Rich LOL. I know right. This is the first thing I've done that went without issue so I had to celebrate. I installed the new casters too but one came without its friction ring and wouldn't stay in of course. Had to have a new one sent.
Another issue with the caps I ordered...I'll b#$%& about that later.

Got started on replacing the caps. I knew the axial caps would be an issue as soon as I saw them. Too long. Rookie mistake I didn't check the dimensions. In my defense usually the modern caps are smaller in both dimensions than their old cousins...yeah that makes me feel better. Anyhoo, replacements are on order that will fit. Was hoping I could squeeze them on somehow and I suppose I could make them work but it would be sloppy. I did manage to get the other 23 caps replaced so I got that going for me.

My original Wurlitzer speaker cables came in. Going to use them to hook up some classic Pioneer 8 Ohm speakers using the external speaker outputs on the amp. Such odd ball connectors no?

Hi Darren, That is a DIN loudspeaker plug, DIN being originally a German standard (D for Deutsche!).

Hi Darren, That is a DIN loudspeaker plug, DIN being originally a German standard (D for Deutsche!). Norman. Hey, I just visited the wiki page on this! It is only odd ball if you aren't German then. Good to know. Also if you want to make your own cables you can get 2 pin DIN screw connectors on Ebay and elsewhere pretty cheap.

Got the caps that fit in so finished the cap kit. Used the adhesive pictured to secure to the board which is an upgrade from the long failed stuff from the factory. I'll test as is before messing with the left channel issue. I have my fingers crossed that it was a bad cap affecting the preamp section somehow but hopes on that are low. If it is still and issue I will try replacing the LM387.

Did some more testing and the left channel issue is not the amplifier. The left signal from the cartridge is weak. When I swap the signals using some jumpers and alligator clips the problem follows the left channel from the cartridge. The left channel of the amplifier plays fine when fed the right signal from the cartridge. So the question is stylus or cartridge? The connections look good on the back of the cartridge.

Hi Darren, What type cartridge is used in your phono ? Ron Rich Ron, you helped me with this on a separate post I created for this issue. It is a Shure cartridge but I'm not "Shure" which one exactly. The manual does not state and the label on the cartridge is long gone.

Hi Darren, If you didn't know which cartridge, how did you know what stylus to order? I had a look earlier on the jukebox-world archive and what you should have is a Shure M75 with the stylus N75C. At the very least, you need to ensure that you are ordering a robust stylus as used for disco applications and not a hi-fi stylus designed to track around 1 gram, both of which are options on the M75.
